Strange News: Cheesy Monument to Feed Florida s Homeless
10:34AM September 14, 2012

If you've ever wanted to see a likeness of Mount Rushmore made of cheddar cheese, book your flight to Palm Beach, Florida forthwith. Starting Monday, the Palm Beach Post reports Wisconsin sculptor Troy Landwehr will start hacking away at a 640-pound slab of mild cheddar in the lobby of the county's city hall, in an effort to create a replica of the mountainous presidential monument he's calling "My Country 'Tis of Cheese."

The pieces that don't make the cut will be donated to The Lord's Place, a charity that helps feed and train Palm Beach County's homeless. As the organization's director of food service puts it, "There’s no greater gift than the gift of cheese."
