VIDEO: Toby Keith - Red Solo Cup

3:42PM February 1, 2012

Superstar Toby Keith hits one heck of a house party armed with his musical ode to his favorite plastic drink holder; however, we soon find out that it is so much more than that. Who knew there were so many uses for a cup?

The video is jam-packed with cameos from Toby's buddies including the song's writers Brett and Brad Warren. Toby shares that only this quirky ditty could come from the minds of such unique individuals. He says, "The cool thing about it is that I've known the Warren brothers for years. They're both knuckleheads. They're just adorable they're such knuckleheads. Now they're with these two other guys - who don't seem to be quite as big of knuckleheads but obviously have to be to team up with the Warren brothers - and that's the Beavers brothers [Brett and Jim] and they write this stuff."

"Red Solo Cup" may not be the highest brow material, but it sure is catchy and fun and that's what inspired Toby to record it. Toby explains," I got this song a couple of years ago and I said, 'That's the stupidest song I've ever heard. You're [seriously] pitching me this song?' And, they said, 'Yeah, you're the only one in town that would do it.' I said, 'Well, let me listen to it.' And, I walked out of the room and I came back in and everybody that had heard it when I heard it was singing it. It's been that way since...and I woke up singing it. It's the best stupid song I ever heard in my life. It's so stupid it's great."
