Born New Year's Eve 1971 in Northampton, Massachusetts, Kristina grew up in the tiny town of Huntington. At 15, she moved to Wilmington, North Carolina and began her radio career a year later. Still in her teens, she ran away and joined the Naval Reserves. A veteran of the Gulf War, Kristina returned home from active duty and attended East Carolina University in Greenville. She got her first full-time radio job in 1993.
